Producers of the new Disney TV movie-musical, "Annie," are hoping to snag major stage stars Alan Cumming, Audra McDonald, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth for a cast that already has Oscar-winner Kathy Bates as Miss Hannigan and Alicia Morton as the red-headed orphan.

If the offers are signed, impact to current Broadway product would be minimal: Cumming, who would play Rooster Hannigan, leaves the role of the Emcee in Cabaret June 6, and Tony Award-nominated Chenoweth (Sally in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) would have only a brief shooting schedule for the smaller role of Lily St. Regis.

Miss Hannigan, Rooster and girlfriend Lily are expected to sing what was a show stopper in the 1977 Broadway original: "Easy Street."

McDonald (Ragtime) is being sought for the role of Daddy Warbucks' secretary, Grace Farrell, and Garber (Sweeney Todd, Art) would be Warbucks. Garber previously played the King in the "Wonderful World of Disney" TV musical, "Cinderella," from the same producers as the upcoming "Annie."

Shooting for "Annie," under the direction of Rob Marshall, is expected to begin June 22. "Annie" will air in November on ABC.
