Stage and screen stars Helen Hunt, Allison Janney, Neil Patrick Harris, Matthew Perry and Richard Kind are among the cast of the Ojai Playwrights Conference annual winter gala performance and staged reading, Jan. 28.

The evening, titled "The Business," is comprised of scenes from contemporary playwrights directed by Michael Morris.

The starry lineup currently includes Helen Hunt (Life x 3, "As Good As It Gets”), Allison Janney (A View From the Bridge, "The West Wing"), Neil Patrick Harris (Assassins, "How I Met Your Mother"), Matthew Perry ("Friends") and his father, John Bennett Perry ("Veronica Mars"), David Burtka (Gypsy), Richard Kind (The Producers, "Spin City") and Richard Jenik ("7th Heaven").

Founded in 1996, the OPC is set in the Ojai countryside, a retreat-like environment away from nearby Los Angeles that provides a place where scribes work in-house on their developing plays. The intensive workshop ends with the public readings.

  • Two house seats to Broadway's Spamalot and a backstage visit with David Hyde-Pierce
  • Two house seats to Broadway's Wicked and a visit with composer Stephen Schwartz
