Television star John Stamos — of "Full House" and "General Hospital" fame — returns to Broadway April 29 as the Emcee in the Tony-winning revival of Cabaret at Studio 54. Stamos, who was last on Broadway in the hit revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, will step into the role that was created for the Roundabout Theater Company's production by Alan Cumming, who won a Tony for his work as the sexually charged commentator. Raul Esparza, who will appear in two productions at this summer's Kennedy Center Sondheim Celebration, currently plays the part. As the Emcee, the 38-year old Stamos will get the chance to perform several Kander and Ebb classics, including "Willkommen," "Two Ladies," "Tomorrow Belongs to Me," "Money," "If You Could See Her" and the moving ballad "I Don't Care Much."

Stamos' professional career began with stints on ABC's "General Hospital" and the popular series "Full House." For ABC, he also starred in the recent romantic comedy "Thieves." As a producer, Stamos received an Emmy nomination for co-producing the miniseries, "Beach Boys: An American Family." Also a successful musician, he has spent 15 years touring with The Beach Boys. On the big screen Stamos has been seen in the black comedy "Dropping Out" and the romantic comedy "Grownups." The California native currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.

The Roundabout Theatre Company's Cabaret opened on Broadway on March 19, 1998, in a production directed by Sam Mendes with co-direction and choreography by Rob Marshall. The current cast features Molly Ringwald as Sally Bowles, Raul Esparza as the Emcee, Larry Keith as Herr Schultz, Matthew Greer as Clifford Bradshaw, Candy Buckley as Fraulein Kost and Peter Benson as Ernst Ludwig. Last season's Follies star, Polly Bergen, recently entered the company as Fraulein Schneider. Jane Leeves will assume the role of Sally Bowles the same day John Stamos joins the cast. Tickets may be purchased at the Studio 54 box office, 254 West 54th Street, or through TeleCharge at (212) 239-6200.
