Billed as the "pre-Broadway engagement," performances are scheduled for Nov. 13-Dec. 4.

Ann: An Affectionate Portrait of Ann Richards, according to press notes, is a play in two acts that "sprang from the desire to understand and reveal the essence of Ann Richards, the second female governor of Texas and a strong, independent, iconic Texan."

Taylor, press notes continue, spent three years "doing the extensive research that forms the basis of this play, crisscrossing the country interviewing people who knew the Governor, watching countless hours of video coverage, and, thanks to the University of Texas Archives, poring over reams of Richards’ personal and public papers. Taylor's greatest resources, however, were the family, friends, staff and colleagues of Governor Richards, who were unfailingly helpful, kind, and tolerant—and who allowed her to 'know' Ann Richards through them."

Tickets range from $20-$85. A select number of premium seats are also available for many performances. Tickets are available now for groups of 15 or more by calling Broadway In Chicago Group Sales at (312) 977-1710. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Bank of America Theatre is located in Chicago at 18 West Monroe Street.
