Co-hosted by journalist Perri Peltz and festival co-founder Craig Hatkoff, the awards recognize the achievements of innovators, pioneers and game-changers in the fields of media, arts and entertainment.
Tharp, who has created the Broadway musicals Movin' Out, The Times They Are A-Changin' and Come Fly Away, will be honored "for her approach to choreography, with which she has created her own language and pushed the boundaries of our notions of movement and dance for the past 50 years," according to organizers.
The Disruptive Innovation Awards will take place at 11 AM at the NYU Stern School of Business. A luncheon will follow. The Tribeca Film Festival runs April 17-28.
