The award-winning production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King And I will close at the London Palladium on Jan. 5, 2002. Thereafter the show will embark on a major national UK tour, commencing in Edinburgh April 19, 2002. The Kind And I opened to sell-out business at the London Palladium on May 3, 2000, starring Elaine Paige and Jason Scott Lee, and had been the longest-running revival of any Rodgers and Hammerstein musical in the West End for many years.
Josie Lawrence ("Whose Line is it Anyway?") and Keo Woolford have both extended their contracts through to the end of the London run.
