Now that their run on Comedy Central is over, the well-known improv and sketch comedy group, the Upright Citizens Brigade, can concentrate on their new sketch show That's Fucked Up, playing at their downtown NYC Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre Oct. 4-Nov. 28.

In That's Fucked Up, the UCB, made up of Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh, delve into the future of the reality-based television genre. The show will be performed Wednesday nights in October and Tuesday nights in November.

The troupe began in Chicago in 1991, where they wrote and performed their own material as members of the Improv Olympic Theatre. In 1996, they brought their sketch show Bucket of Truth to New York, along with their improv show A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T. (which they still perform twice on Sundays). By 1998, the UCB had their own television show on the cable network Comedy Central. Then, in 1999, when the Harmony Theatre (a former adult entertainment venue) was shut down, the UCB turned the space into their new 74-seat home. The UCB Theatre offers other sketch/ improv groups space to fill the house seven nights a week. They also pass on their improv style through classes at the Theatre.

To get Fucked Up tickets, or any other information about shows or classes at the UCB Theatre, 161 West 22nd Street (between 6th and 7th Ave.), call (212) 366 9176. You can also visit the UCB-ICB (Internal Communications Board, or website) at www.uprightcitizens.org.
