News Upright Citizens Brigade Musical to Be Filmed F***ing Identical Twins has been optioned by 20th Century Fox.

F***ing Identical Twins, the irreverent musical that played more than a year at the Upright Citizens Brigade improv club in Manhattan, has been purchased by 20th Century Fox, which intends to adapt it as a film, according to Deadline.com.

The show is described as a ”subversive musical spin” on the comedic film The Parent Trap, about a pair of identical twins who scheme to reunite their divorced parents. In the 1961 and 1998 film versions, the twins were portrayed as young girls. In F***ing Identical Twins, the twins are grown men (contrary to the logo image attached to this story), rivals in business, who discover they are twins.

Librettists Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson, who adapted the story, also starred in the show, which has a score by Karl Saint Lucy. Jackson and Sharp have been engaged by producers Chernin Entertainment to adapt their script to the screen. Saint Lucy is composer of the stage musical Class.

No director, cast or detailed timetable for the 2018 production were announced.
