Classic Arts News Vadim Repin Drops Out of St. Petersburg Philharmonic Concert in Florida Violinist Vadim Repin, who is touring with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, has withdrawn from the orchestra's concert on November 6 at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. He will be replaced by Sayaka Shoji.
Repin has canceled because his father is undergoing surgery, according to a spokesman for the Kravis Center.

Shoji will perform Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1, the same piece with which she made her New York Philharmonic debut last month. Also on the program, which is unchanged, are Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances and selections from Prokofiev's The Love for Three Oranges.

Repin is scheduled to perform at subsequent tour stops in Orlando (November 7); Davis, California (November 18); and San Francisco (November 19). A representative of the San Francisco Symphony said that she expected him to appear.
