Williams received a Tony nomination in 2002 for performing in the Sondheim musical Into the Woods, and also appeared on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman. Cook, a 1958 Tony winner for The Music Man, recently received her second Tony nomination for Featured Actress in a Musical category for her work in Sondheim on Sondheim. Her concert Mostly Sondheim was nominated in the now-defunct Special Theatrical Event category in 2002.

Nadia DiGiallonardo is the music director for the new musical by Geoffrey Nauffts and Jonatha Brooke.
The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
The free Times Square concert was presented by The Broadway Green Alliance and Times Square Alliance.
