News Varma to Star in London Vertical Hour The Vertical Hour, David Hare's war-themed drama that marked the Broadway debuts of film actors Julianne Moore and Bill Nighy, will play London's Royal Court in January 2008, according to Variety.

Indira Varma, recently seen in HBO's "Rome," will play the role of Nadia, created on Broadway by film actress Moore. The production is scheduled to begin previews Jan. 17, 2008, with an official opening Jan. 22. The limited engagement will run through March 1. Jeremy Herrin will direct.

The Vertical Hour concerns a Yale professor and her boyfriend who are visiting the boyfriend's father in the Welsh countryside. The trio engage in heated discussions on love, death, parenthood and the war in Iraq.

The Vertical Hour made its world premiere at Broadway's Music Box Theatre. Sam Mendes directed the New York run, which began previews Nov. 9, 2006, officially opened Nov. 30 and closed March 11, 2007.
