News Victoria Clark, Matthew Morrison and Kelli O'Hara Reuniting for Light in the Piazza A benefit performance of Adam Guettel's Tony Award-winning musical The Light in the Piazza, which will reunite members of the original Broadway cast, will be presented April 4 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater as a benefit for Lincoln Center Theater.

Victoria Clark, who won a Tony Award for her performance, will be reunited with Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara and Tony nominee Matthew Morrison, as well as Michael Berresse, Sarah Uriarte Berry, Patti Cohenour, Beau Gravitte, Mark Harelik, Felicity LaFortune and Joseph Siravo.

Directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, and featuring a Tony-nominated book by Craig Lucas, the 6:30 PM reunion concert will be conducted by original musical director and co-orchestrator Ted Sperling.

Eric and Stacey Mindich are the gala co-chairs; proceeds will support Lincoln Center Theater's productions and education programs.

The Light in the Piazza opened on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater April 18, 2005. The musical earned eleven Tony nominations and took the honors for Best Original Score, Best Actress (Victoria Clark), Best Orchestrations, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design and Best Lighting Design.

"Based on the novel by Elizabeth Spencer, The Light in the Piazza is set in the summer of 1953 and tells the story of a mother and daughter traveling through Italy, the daughter’s romance with a handsome, high-spirited Florentine and the mother’s determined efforts to keep the two apart."
