Janet Planet, a new film written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker, is scheduled for release in select cities June 21 and nationwide June 28. Get a first look at the motion picture in the new trailer above.

The A24 film, set in rural Massachusetts in summer 1991, follows 11-year-old Lacy, who is enthralled by her own imagination and the attention of her mother, Janet. As the months pass, three visitors enter their orbit, all captivated by Janet and her spellbinding nature. In her solitary moments, Lacy inhabits an inner world so detailed that it begins to seep into the outside world.

Baker's intimate drama The Flick, which premiered Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons, was named the winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. She is also the author of John, Circle Mirror Transformation, Body Awareness, The Aliens, an adaptation of Uncle Vanya for Soho Rep, and more.
