Austrian acting school Schauspielschule Krauss will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a series of performances and readings. The primary celebration is planned for October 23.

Located in the heart of Vienna, Schauspielschule Krauss was founded in 1948 by Helmuth Krauss and is now run by his granddaughter Michaela Krauss-Boneau, who has led the institution for 35 years. Among its most notable alumni are Oskar Werner, Karl-Heinz Böhm, Regina Fritsch, and Valerie Huber.

"The acting school is the only continuously operated, officially state-recognized private acting school in Austria," shares Krauss-Boneau. "For 15 years, my grandfather operated the school by offering evening acting courses. My father spent 25 years running the evening school in this vision, and I have spent the last 35 years developing it into a full-time program."

The school's curriculum largely follows the Stanislavski method and its evolutions via Meisner, Spolin, Johnston, and Linklater. Students who complete the three-year course leave with a state-approved diploma for theatre, film, and television.
