As previously reported, the annual awards — honoring the best in New York cabaret, comedy and jazz — will be presented Jan. 28, 2008 at Town Hall. Presenters for the Nightlife Awards, created by Scott Siegel, will be announced shortly. In a statement producer Siegel said, "I am thrilled to get Bruce Vilanch back at the host of this year's Nightlife Awards. He did it once before and he was brilliant. Listening back stage, it was like have the Academy Awards at Town Hall."

Siegel added, "I can't wait to announce the people that will be on stage to present and perform on January 28th. The voting on the awards is going on right now and I'm also in the midst of lining up guest talent and celebrity presenters. All I can say at this moment is that this show is going to be enormously star-studded and wildly entertaining. And that's a promise!"

The Nightlife Awards are unique because rather than offering acceptance speeches, winners perform. Past participants have included Brian Stokes Mitchell, Elaine Stritch, Kristin Chenoweth, Donna Murphy, Andrea Marcovicci, Ute Lemper and Alice Ripley, among others.

Tickets to the 2008 Nightlife Awards, priced at $75, $50 and $25, are now available by visiting the Town Hall box office (123 West 43rd Street), by calling (212) 307-4100 or by logging on to www.ticketmaster.com.
