Classic Arts News Violinist James Ehnes to Replace Hilary Hahn for Thanksgiving Weekend Concerts With Houston Symphony Hilary Hahn, who has fallen ill, has withdrawn from her scheduled appearances this weekend with the Houston Symphony Orchestra and guest conductor Arild Remmereit. She was to be the soloist in Korngold's Violin Concerto in concerts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 24-26.
Replacing Hahn will be the widely praised 30-year-old Canadian violinist James Ehnes. As it happens, Ehnes already has the Korngold concerto in his repertoire — he recently released a recording of it on the Onyx label — so the program can go ahead without change.

Also on the program will be selections from Grieg's incidental music to Peer Gynt and the Polovtsian Dances from Borodin's opera Prince Igor. For more information, visit www.houstonsymphony.org.
