Benedetti signed a Ô£1 million recording contract with Universal/Deutsche Grammophon last year. Her first album, recorded with the London Symphony and featuring Szymonowski's First Violin Concerto, will be released on May 9.

Other upcoming appearances by Benedetti include an album-release gala at Royal Festival Hall on May 15 and the Classical Brits award ceremony on May 25. According to Scotland on Sunday, she will also appear in Hyde Park during the BBC Proms.

Benedetti will be touring the U.S. twice a year for the next three years, her manager told the paper, as well as traveling to Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America. "There is an overwhelming demand from America at the moment," Vicky Corley-Smith said. "In a strange kind of way Nicola has already cracked America. The orchestras know about her, they know she is a serous artist."
