Playwright Francine Volpe will see her play, Stars, given a workshop production at Off-Broadway's Soho Rep, March 7-10. Linsay Firman, an associate of the Downtown theatre, will direct.
Stars uses a true case of teenage sexual brutality to examine the "subtle violence present in all relationships." Volpe was part of Soho Rep's 1999-2000 Playwriting Lab. Stars will run for four performances.
The cast includes Shannon Burkett, Robert Fass, Erin Gann, Zoe Jenkin, Bruce Kronenberg, J. Christopher O'Connor, Chance Pinnell and Wendy Rich Stetson.
The design team includes Blythe R.D. Quinlan (set), Matt Frey (lighting) and Eric Shim (sound).
Soho Rep recently concluded its run of Mac Wellman's riff on the Don Juan myth, Cat's Paw. Tickets are $10. Soho Rep is located at 46 Walker Street. For more information, call (212) 479-7979.
