Broadway News Watch: Brandy Norwood Talks About Returning to Broadway’s Chicago The recording artist says Broadway changed her life.

“I love Broadway,” recording artist and actor Brandy Norwood declared on The Today Show. “It completely changed my life. It’s the kind of thing that you earn every applause—you connect with the audience right away.”

Norwood said on the morning show that she discovered a sense of humility from doing Broadway that she will never shake—and doesn’t want to.

The actor made her Broadway debut with Chicago in 2015 as Roxie Hart. Now, she has returned for a limited two-week engagement to the role. And, she takes it seriously. “I’m very disciplined, I try to keep my voice right. I don’t talk much; I eat right; I work out, just so I can be phenomenal every night.”

In addition to her music career, Brandy played Cinderella in the televised version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical in 1997.
