Julian and Senase met doing a production of Next to Normal at Drury Lane Theatre. Julian played Dr.Fine/Dr. Madden, and Senase was the costume shop manager.
At first Senase did not catch on to the fact that the proposal was real, and instead quoted the character of Laurey, saying, "What would I want to marry you for?" When she realized Julian was serious, she said, "Of course."
