Film & TV News Watch Cynthia Erivo Whistle a Christmas Song for Jimmy Fallon

The Tony winner also spoke about her roles in two upcoming films, Wicked and Drift.

Tony winner Cynthia Erivo, who will be seen as Elphaba in the forthcoming Wicked films, recently stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Erivo spoke about performing with Ariana Grande in the aforementioned Wicked—"when we sing together, it just works," she said—and her other forthcoming film Drift, which will be released in February 2024. About the latter, the Broadway favorite explained, "Drift is about this young woman called Jacqueline, who is displaced because of war in Liberia, which is where she is originally from. She ends up in Greece alone, and you watch her kind of pick up the pieces of her life and put it back together again."

Erivo also delighted host Fallon and the audience by whistling the holiday classic, "I'll Be Home for Christmas."
