Video Watch: Kate Baldwin Hosts 'A Seat at the Table' Roundtable Discussion for Maestra

Featuring Victoria Detres, Nicole D'Angelo, PJ Ju, and November Christine, the talk covers access, community, and the future of the American theatre.

At Maestra Music's Amplify 2024 Concert, a new roundtable conversation, A Seat at the Table, was launched. Check out the five minute teaser for Episode One above.

Encouraging discussions centered on access, community, and the future of the American theatre, the inaugural conversation was hosted by two-time Tony nominee Kate Baldwin, with Victoria Detres (producer and RISE Theatre program manager), Nicole D'Angelo (assistant music director for How to Dance in Ohio), PJ Ju (inaugural recipient of the MUSE/Maestra Music Director Experience at Wicked), and November Christine (composer, producer, activist, and advocate) participating.

The video also features an original song of the same name by composer and lyricist Ann Klein, performed by Aisha de Haas. Produced by Klein and Tim Hatfield, the song features Klein on guitar and bass, and Dena Tauriello on drums.

Shot on Location at Starchild in The Civilian Hotel, A Seat at the Table is directed by Jessica Ryan and produced by Greg Kamp, with Gregg Monteith serving as director of photography and sound engineer, and Mer Morran serving as the camera operator.

Founded by Georgia Stitt, Maestra Music works to provide support, visibility, and community to women and non-binary musicians working in the musical theatre industry.
