Video Watch Kennedy Caughell Call Out 'To My Angels' in New Video From SuperYou Musical

Lourds Lane's superhero rock musical will play two concerts at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall in July.

Ahead of its upcoming concert performances at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall, set for July 20–21, SuperYou has released a studio video of the song "To My Angels" featuring vocals performed by Kennedy Caughell (currently on Broadway in the musical Paradise Square) and the show's composer, lyricist, and book writer Lourds Lane on violin. Check out the video above.

The work tells the story of a woman and her superheroine creations that suddenly come to life, reminding her of the power of her own voice. A planned 2020 Off-Broadway run was canceled by the pandemic, but a creative pivot led to a concert version of the musical, presented by the cast performing on the backs of five pick-up trucks at a drive-in theatre in Amenia, New York, in June 2020. The work subsequently released a concept album and documentary film. The musical has also developed a healthy fanbase via TikTok, with "To My Angels" being one of its most-covered tunes.

The Carnegie Hall concerts will feature Kennedy Caughell, Justin Sargent, Brie Cassil, Carrie Compere, Ty Deran, Lydia Ricks, and Lane, backed by an all-female band comprising music director and pianist Wendy Bobbitt Cavett, pianist Julianne Merrill, guitarist Beth Callen, bass player Michelle Osbourne, and drum player Emma Ford. JoAnn M. Hunter will direct.
