Music Video Watch Lin-Manuel Miranda Record 'Cheering For Me Now' With John Kander, Alex Lacamoire, and a Full Orchestra The song is the latest in the Hamilton composer's #Hamildrop series.

After taking the Hamilton stage once again in the music video for “Cheering For Me Now” (his latest #Hamildrop offering), Lin-Manuel Miranda has an extra treat for fans of the John Kander collaboration. Check out Miranda performing the tune in the recording studio above.

The Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner, looking particularly dapper for a recording session, is joined by fellow musical theatre luminary Kander—who penned the music for the song—and Hamilton maestro Alex Lacamoire—who conducts the full orchestra.

The number explores the title Founding Father’s reaction to the accolades thrown upon him. “This is a moment that we thought we were going to put in the show,” explains Miranda. “New York adopts the constitution and becomes a part of the United States, and they form a parade for Hamilton.”

The song, which combines Hamilton’s signature verbal wit with Kander’s character-driven melodies, was born out of trip to the latter’s cabin. “We just talked about the scene and what would happen, and we left with a song.”

Miranda has promised a new piece of content as part of his #Hamildrop series each month through December.
