Two-time Tony winner Viola Davis, who can currently be seen opposite Denzel Washington in the film version of August Wilson's Fences, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame January 5, according to EW.com.
Meryl Streep, who co-starred with Davis in the film version of Doubt, spoke at the ceremony, the first of 2017. The multiple Oscar winner said, “Viola Davis is possessed. She’s possessed of a blazing, incandescent talent. She is, arguably, the most immediate, responsive artist I have ever worked with.”
An emotional Davis, who won her Tonys for her performances in Fences and King Hedley II, said, “I cannot believe my life right now.”
