The record-breaking evening benefited Broadway Cares and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.

Broadway Backwards, the annual benefit concert celebrating the LGBTQ+ community via songs from musical theatre, returned to Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre, current home of Disney's Aladdin, March 13.

Produced by Broadway Cares, the evening benefited the theatrical nonprofit and New York City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, raising a record-breaking $765,069. Jenn Colella hosted the in-person event for the third time.

To celebrate Pride Month, Broadway Cares recently released the opening number from the benefit, the inspiring anthem “One Day More,” here set among a group of activists preparing for an equality march in Washington. Watch Philippe Arroyo, Bradley Dean, Jeigh Madjus, Ellyn Marie Marsh, Chris McCarrell, Turner Riley, Alexandra Silber, and Paul C. Vogt lead the ensemble in the powerful rendition of the Les Misérables tune.
