Video WATCH: The Prom Performs on The View and Discusses Importance of LGBTQ+ Representation on Broadway Tony nominee Caitlin Kinnunen, Isabelle McCalla and the ensemble performed the high school promposal anthem "You Happened."

The Prom was such a big hit with The View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin that they brought them on to perform "You Happened."

In the number, high schoolers go around asking their peers to prom, singing their hearts out in the hopes of a "yes" to a promposal. Watch the video above.

After the performance, Tony nominee Caitlin Kinnunen and Isabelle McCalla spoke with the two hosts about the impact the show has had.

"It's a message of acceptance and tolerance and listening. And I think that is something America needs right now," said Kinnunen. "It's also important for LGBTQ youth to see themselves represented in a positive light. Our show does that, and it’s really cool."

Last year, Kinnunen and McCalla gave TV viewers the first same-sex ever to take place during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast, leading to a spectrum of reactions.

“For every negative comment that we got, we got 50 more positive and overwhelming ones of support and affirmation,” McCalla said. “We validated thousands of families that look like this all across America.”
