News “Welcome to the 60’s”: Hairspray Sheet Music Now Available Piano and vocal selections for the hit musical Hairspray were recently released.

Hal Leonard has published the 121-page soft-back tome, which features 12 songs from what is arguably this season’s biggest hit. The book, with a suggested retail price of $17.95, also features seven pages of photos — by photographer Paul Kolnik — from the musical now playing Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre. With music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman, the Hairspray vocal selections include the music and lyrics for these songs: “Good Morning Baltimore,” “The Nicest Kids in Town,” “Mama, I’m a Big Girl Now,” “I Can Hear the Bells,” “It Takes Two,” “Welcome to the 60’s,” “Run and Tell That,” “Big, Blonde and Beautiful,” “Timeless to Me,” “Without Love,” “I Know Where I’ve Been” and the toe-tapping finale, “You Can’t Stop the Beat.”

Starring Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad and Marissa Jaret Winokur as Tracy Turnblad, the musical also features Laura Bell Bundy, Mary Bond Davis, Kerry Butler, Linda Hart, Dick Latessa, Matthew Morrison, Corey Reynolds, Clarke Thorell and Danelle Eugenia Wilson.
