The TUTS production features direction by Lee Roy Reams - the Broadway veteran who both directed and choreographed the 1995 Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly! - with choreography by 1995 Hello, Dolly! cast member Randy Slovacek.

Joining Uggams onstage are The Producers' Lewis J. Stadlen as Horace Vandergelder, Amy Shure as Minnie Fay, original Phantom star Glory Crampton as Irene Molloy, Les Miserables' Kevin Earley as Cornelius and The Music Man's Michael McGurk as Barnaby Tucker.

Ron Kellum is featured as Ambrose with Randolph as Ermengarde Vandergelder, Jessica Sheridan as Ernestina Simple and Erick R. Walck as Rudolph.

The Hello, Dolly! ensemble comprises Melanie Allen, Brian Barry, Alan Bennett, Nathaniel Braga, Stuart Capps, Dominic Di Felice, Craig Foster, Adam Gibbs, Kevin Hill, Traci Hines, Darrell T. Joe, Tony Johnson, Laura Kaldis, Richard M. Keck, Dominique Kelley, Chris Klink, David La Duca, Alissa Ann LaVergne, Reid Lee, Sarah Moore, Robert Randle, Christina Stroup, Mary Jo Todaro, Gia Valenti, Paige Wheat and Jennifer Blakeney Young.

Based on Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker, Hello, Dolly! features a Tony Award-winning book by Michael Stewart and music and lyrics by Tony winner Jerry Herman. Uggams returns to Houston having previously starred in the TUTS productions of Into the Woods and Anything Goes. The actress most recently starred opposite James Earl Jones in the Broadway revival of On Golden Pond. A Tony winner for her Broadway debut in Hallelujah, Baby!, Uggams has appeared in Thoroughly Modern Millie, King Hedley II, Anything Goes, Jerry's Girls, Blues in the Night and Her First Roman on Broadway. She earned an Emmy for her work on television's "Fantasy" and appeared as Kizzy Reynolds in the award-winning miniseries "Roots."

Hello, Dolly! earned ten Tony Awards for its 1964 Broadway debut starring Carol Channing. The original production, directed and choreographed by Gower Champion, would run 2,844 performances with headliners including Pearl Bailey, Phyllis Diller, Ethel Merman, Betty Grable, Martha Raye and Ginger Rogers. Songs from the production include "Before the Parade Passes By," "Put On Your Sunday Clothes," "Ribbons Down My Back," "Dancing," "It Only Takes a Moment" and the title song.
