The full staging follows a summer workshop at the Flea Annex which ran from July 3 until Aug. 2. The new outing will play in the Flea's Downstairs stage, a space located at 41 White Street. Cellophane sees Wellman playing around with language as usual. The play is described as "a spiritual history of America, [told] through the medium of Bad Language."
Simpson's has previously directed Wellman's Three Americanisms, Murder of Crows, Sincerity Forever, Strange Feet and Bad Penny. He directed the Flea's biggest hit to date, the 9/11-themed The Guys by Anne Nelson.
Tickets are $15. Shows begin at 8 PM. Call (212) 226-2407.
