In a mass email actor-co-creator Taylor said, "I have held out on crowd-funding for a long time (as asking friends and fans for money didn't rub me the right way). My collaborator (Mitch Jarvis) and I have been creating web content together for over 4 years...all out of pocket. When the projects were more humble, we were happy to produce everything on our own. The ambitious freshman season of our latest web series, 'it could be worse' proved quite difficult to fund ourselves. If I'm honest, I poured in 'smash' paychecks and Mitch supplemented with his national commercial money, and although we were amazed at the response we were getting...monetarily, we were in over our heads. We've realized that if a project is successfully funded by 'the people'...producers are likely to invest in something that is already in demand! I love you all. I know this sort of self-promotion could possibly lead you to harbor bad feelings about me. In the end, I believe it's worth the risk. This is our dream, after all. Creating our own original content trumps everything else for me. If you feel so inclined, please help us. There are rewards listed on the page, as well as our campaign video."

"It Could Be Worse," which concerns the life and career of hapless actor Jacob Gordon, played by Taylor, also features Adam Chanler-Berat as Ben Farrel, two-time Tony nominee Alison Fraser as stage star Veronica Bailey, Gideon Glick as Jacob's boyfriend Phillip Klein, Jarvis as agent Sam Atkinson, Tony Award nominee Nancy Opel as Jacob's mother Judy Gordon, Richard Poe as Jacob's father Leo Gordon and Audra McDonald as Jacob's shrink.

Larger donations include a voicemail from co-star Fraser, lunch with various cast members and/or a walk-on role in the series.
