On the Square Productions was formed in 2007 by two alumni of the University of Wisconsin (Rachel McPhee and Jackie LaVanway). The company "finds its joy and raison d’etre in the text. Whether rooted in the classics or avant-garde, we seek to give our artists and audiences the chance to  revel in the spoken word: loving, brutal, poetic, visceral, gleeful, magical, but always powerful."
