West Coast Jewish Theatre has announced the appointment of Jeremiah Morris as its new Executive/Artistic Director. Morris recently served as artistic director of El Portal Center for the Arts, where he directed the acclaimed production of The Puppetmaster of Lodz.
Morris has also taught at the New School for Social Research and was a professor at Boston University, where he did an adaptation of the writings of Eugene Vachtangov, founder of Habima. He served as artistic director for Asbury Park Playhouse and the Seven Arts Center in New York.
A veteran of over a dozen Broadway shows as actor and director, he came to Los Angeles 25 years ago, where he worked extensively in television. Among his other local stage credits are The Gingerbread Lady at the Huntington Hartford Theatre.
Judy Arnold continues as producing director of West Coast Jewish Theatre. Her most recent producing credits include King Levine, The Last Session and Laura, all at the Tiffany Theatre.
