International News West End Dreamgirls Sets Final Performance; U.K. Tour to Follow The London production opened in December 2016.

The current West End revival of Dreamgirls will take its final bow at London’s Savoy Theatre next year. The production, directed by Casey Nicholaw, will shutter January 12, 2019, before embarking on a U.K. tour.

The production opened in December 2016 and went on to win Olivier Awards for original stars Amber Riley and Adam J. Bernard.

The cast is currently led by Marisha Wallace, Moya Angela, and Karen Mav, who share the role of Effie White, as well as Bryennyn Lark as Deena Jones, Asmeret Ghebremichael as Lorrell Robinson, and Joe Aaron Reid as Curtis Taylor Jr.

Exact dates and cities for the tour will be announced at a later time. The Tom Eyen and Henry Krieger musical had also been eyeing a Broadway bow for later this year.
