News West End Edition of Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical to Shutter in December The West End edition of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert The Musical has confirmed that it is to shutter Dec. 31, 2011.

The show, which is also currently playing at Broadway’s Palace Theatre, will play its 1,000th performance in the West End (where it is also coincidentally playing at the Palace) Sept. 3.

Priscilla opened in the West End in March 2009; it will have run for just under three years when it closes.

For the final run of the show, Ray Meacher - best known for playing Alf Stewart in TV’s "Home and Away" - will rejoin the production in October to reprise the role of Bob, which he previously played last year. He joins Don Gallagher (Bernadette), Richard Grieve (Tick) and Oliver Thornton (Adam), who play the glamorous Sydney-based performing trio.
