Mamma Mia! sold its two millionth ticket at the Prince Edward Theatre in London last week and is now heading full steam ahead to the three million mark as audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, and Down Under, continue to queue round the block to see the ABBA-inspired musical.
At the London production on March 13 the two-millionth ticket holder was congratulated onstage and presented with a free weekend in New York to see the Broadway production.
Maybe it's because the United Nations is based in New York, but Mamma Mia!'s New York version seems to be attracting politicians galore — from Gorbachev to Colin Powell.
Mamma Mia! opened on Broadway in October 2001, and productions can also be seen in Melbourne and Toronto.
