News West End Return of Evita Finds Its Magaldi Ben Forster, who previously starred in the title role of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar on its U.K. arena stage tour after winning the TV talent show "Superstar," is to star in Lloyd Webber and Rice's Evita on its return to the West End.

He will play the role of Agustin Magaldi, Eva Person's first love, in the production that begins performances Sept. 16 prior to an official opening Sept. 22, for a run of 55 performances only through Nov. 1 at the Dominion Theatre.



He joins the previously annnounced Marti Pellow as Che and Madalena Alberto as Eva Peron.



In a press statement, he commented, "It is a huge privilege to take on such a fantastic part and in such a brilliant show!"



Forster, whose previous West End credits include La Cava, All You Need is Love and Thriller Live, has also played Brad Majors in a U.K. tour of The Rocky Horror Show. After winning the role of Jesus in 2012 in Jesus Christ Superstar, he toured both the U.K. and Australia in it, and was due to headline the U.S. tour that subsequently was canceled days before it was due to begin.
