The Broadway production has just taken over from A Chorus Line as the fourth longest-running musical in Broadway history, where it is also now playing its third Broadway home at the Ambassador Theatre, after previous runs at the Richard Rodgers and Shubert Theatre. In a press statement, producer Barry Weissler commented about the show’s ongoing success and its new London home: "Last week, and in spite of nature’s attempts to spoil the party, we were delighted to see Chicago become the longest running American musical of all time, finally beating A Chorus Line’s record set way back in 1990. And this week it brings me huge pleasure and personal pride to be able to announce that London’s longest running revival will, thanks to Nica Burns and Nimax Theatres, return to the West End at the Garrick Theatre."
Casting for the show’s West End return is yet to be announced. To book tickets, which are currently on sale through Jan. 31, 2012, contact the box office on 0844 482 9673, or visit www.chicagothemusical.co.uk for more details.
