News West End's Thriller Live Adds New Songs and New Opening; Set to Break Two More Records The West End production of Thriller Live, currently in its sixth year at the West End's Lyric Theatre, is to add new songs to its playlist, re-stage its opening and introduce new video content.

The new songs are "Earth Song," which topped the U.K. Singles Chart for six weeks over Christmas in 1995 and sold one million copies, making it Michael Jackson's most successful U.K. single, and "HIStory." Both were tracks on his ninth studio album, "HIStory: Past, Present and Future."

In a press statement, co-producer Paul Walden commented, "We are totally unique among West End musicals in that we regularly update the show. We are adding new songs, stunning additional choreography, new video footage and a new opening to keep the production fresh and vibrant. Michael Jackson was known as a perfectionist and we constantly strive to ensure that Thriller Live, celebrating the genius of his songwriting and trend-setting dance moves, is the very best experience it can be for his fans and lovers of his music worldwide."

The show is currently the 20th longest-running West End musical of all time. On Jan. 24, 2015, it will overtake the revival of Grease (which ran for 2,529 performances) and on April 12 it will overtake the 1960 production of Oliver! (2,618 performances) to become the 18th longest runner of all time.

The show is also set to open its first-ever tour of Australia and New Zealand, which become the 29th and 30th countries to host the show around the world. The tour will begin performances Dec. 12 in Perth, then play Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.
