Winnow Winds, a new musical by the father and son team of James and Jerry Buescher which has set its cap for Broadway, will premiere June 25 at the Apollo Theater in Martinsburg, West Virginia. A show spokeperson said the creators hope to move the tuner to Washington, D.C., following the West Virginia engagement, and then continue on to New York. Winnow Winds is a fictional story based on three real-life floods in Johnstown, PA, which, according to the spokesperson, took place on 1889, 1939 and 1977. The musical begins with and Indian, dead for 300 years, telling the tale of his tribal village and how it was consumed by fire. The next scene finds an anthropologist, in 1972, searching for the remains of that destroyed village -- now a mining town. Suddenly, a hurricane hits and the local dam bursts, while lightning simultaneously ignites the town's underground mines, forcing the populace to retreat to a church on a hill.

J.T. Wager will direct. No cast has yet been announced.
