Joining Rockwell will be Aaron Ramey (Thoroughly Modern Millie) in the title role and Sandy Rosenberg (The Scarlet Pimpernel) as Carlotta. Tom Polum, who was a part of the original production and directed the 1996 Westchester revival of Phantom, returns to guide Rockwell and Ramey through the gothic musical.

Complete casting and creative team will be announced shortly.

Following the world premiere at Houston's Theater Under the Stars in 1991 starring Robert Cuccioli and Glory Crampton, Phantom made its New York premiere at Westchester Broadway Theatre in 1992, running for nine months and spawning the RCA cast recording.

The Kopit/Yeston Phantom — based on the Gaston Leroux novel, "The Phantom of the Opera" — predates the Andrew Lloyd Webber version, delving further into the characters' past as well as providing several plot twists not in the original novel. Preceding the musical's premiere, Kopit's original book was made into a 1990 NBC television miniseries starring Burt Lancaster.

Kate Rockwell is also slated to appear in the upcoming NYMF production of Tully (In No Particular Order) and previously appeared in the regional mounting of High School Musical as Sharpay for North Shore Music Theatre.

Phantom will run Oct. 4, 2007–Feb. 9, 2008, with a hiatus from Nov. 26–Dec. 26 when Westchester Broadway Theatre will present the holiday classic A Christmas Carol. For tickets call (914) 592-2222 or visit www.broadwaytheatre.com.
