Wetzel assumes the role from original cast member Eddie Korbich, who departed the show to begin rehearsals to play Scuttle in the new stage production of Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Broadway veteran Wetzel has appeared in The Producers, Thou Shalt Not, Annie Get Your Gun and Ain't Broadway Grand as well as Stephen Sondheim's Opening Doors at Carnegie Hall.

In the show within a show, Wetzel will play a tap-happy best man in a 1920s wedding. His signature number is "Cold Feets."

The Drowsy Chaperone plays Tuesday-Saturday at 8 PM with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
