Director Rob Marshall has already confirmed that Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep will play the Witch in the anticipated film adaptation, which will shoot in London this fall. Additional reports indicate that Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor James Corden and "Sweeney Todd" star Johnny Depp may also join the cast.
It's been "agony" waiting for official casting news. Playbill.com decided to open up the dialogue to our readers to share their wishes for who they would like to play the "sensitive, clever, well-mannered, considerate" Princes in the fairytale musical.
Click through to see the dashing and charming men our readers picked:
Radcliffe has the worldwide recognition thanks to the "Harry Potter" films. He also proved his acting chops with Equus on Broadway and the West End – in addition to showing off his skills as a song-and-dance man with the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Jackman is a great candidate for Cinderella's Prince, who doubles on stage as the Wolf. From his work in his one-man Broadway show, to The Boy from Oz, and playing "Wolverine" – Jackman has his princely bases covered.

This is a dreamy pairing. Jackson was actually involved in the Into the Woods film reading last fall (as Rapunzel's Prince) – and Marsden wore a crown in the animated feature "Enchanted" where he sang a duet with Amy Adams.

flailtastic: EDDIE REDMAYNE PLEASE. And about time the guy does something comedic!
NPH knows his way around a Sondheim musical, having performed in Assassins on Broadway and the New York Philharmonic concerts of Sweeney Todd and Company. Tony winner Redmayne made his cinematic musical debut as young revolutionary Marius in the recent film adaptation of "Les Misérables."
mandersssh: AARON TVEIT HANDS DOWN ENOUGH SAID ETC
harmonicalynn: Aaron tveit as both princes because why not
Garrett Canna: Aaron Tveit for everything. He should play both princes, and they can be twins. It will be glorious.
Wow – we hear you! The dashing Next to Normal and Catch Me If You Can star was a top pick among our readers. Tveit got some quality screen time as Enjorlas in the "Les Miz" film and his new series "Graceland" debuts in a few weeks.

"Glee" star Matthew Morrison was another popular suggestion. Having Morrison return to his legit roots (he's a Tony nominee for The Light in the Piazza) with a film adaptation of Into the Woods would be a full-circle moment for theatre fans.
The Newsies Tony Award nominee – and that chiseled jaw – garnered many fans beyond Broadway with his performances in "Joyful Noise" and as troubled songwriter Jimmy Collins on "Smash." He's also set to appear in the movie version of The Last Five Years with Anna Kendrick.
British actor Hadley Fraser, also an alum of the "Les Miz" film, paired alongside Chase (recently of Edwin Drood), would make for a dashing and comedic duo. We'd also love to see Chase in a new screen project after making a splash on "Smash."

Margaret Daisy Rose: Aaron Tveit and Jonathon Groff
No matter the pairing, fans also want to see Tony Award-nominated Spring Awakening star Jonathan Groff wear one of the crowns. He certainly has the voice and the charm – plus his devious comic turns on "Glee" gives him an edge to take on The Wolf as well.
Skylar Astin, another Spring Awakening alum, would be a really cool pick for a Prince. After starring in the a capella film "Pitch Perfect," it would be exciting to hear Astin lend his strong pop voice to Sondheim's score.

Santino Fontana is already on track for the throne as Prince Topher in the Broadway premiere of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. He earned his first Tony nomination for his performance this year – and is also a Sondheim vet, having understudied and played the role of George in the 2008 Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park With George.
_biancaruiz: Ramin Karimloo as one choice because he has a very masculine/prince-like charm! He also has the voice and acting skills for it!
Karimloo has garnered international fame for his portrayal of the mysterious Phantom in both The Phantom of the Opera, as well as the world-premiere sequel Love Never Dies. He's also loved by Les Miz fans for his work as Jean Valjean in the West End.

It's been too long since we've heard Patrick Wilson sing a show tune. He last performed on Broadway in the 2002 revival of Oklahoma! and has gone on to establish himself as a major screen player. Perhaps he could be tempted to return to his musical roots for Into the Woods.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has established himself as a capable actor and musician, showed off his showbiz skills during the 2013 Oscars with Daniel Radcliffe and Seth MacFarlane.
Rannells shot to musical theatre stardom thanks to his Tony-nominated turn in The Book of Mormon. With the NBC series "The New Normal" now cancelled, Rannells has some free time to make this wish a reality!
