The national tour, which took its message of peace and free love on the road Oct. 21, 2010, in New Haven, CT, reunited many members of the Broadway revival cast. The tour also made a summer 2011 Broadway return to the St. James Theatre, for a limited engagement July 5-Sept. 10, 2011.

Tony Award nominee Diane Paulus, who is currently represented on Broadway with The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, directed Hair, which has choreography by Tony nominee Karole Armitage.

Troika Entertainment is also behind a 2012-2013 tour of Hair, based on the 2008 Broadway revival, which is expected to launch in fall 2012.

The revival of Hair began life in 2007 as a special 40th anniversary concert staging at the Delacorte Theater. In 2008 the Public mounted Hair as part of Shakespeare in the Park, where the run was extended three times. The production transferred to Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre March 31, 2009, and concluded in June 2010. It earned the 2009 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.

A London production opened April 14, 2010, at the Gielgud Theatre and concluded in September of that year. The iconic musical has book and lyrics by the late Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. The Hair creative team includes set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Michael McDonald, lighting designer Kevin Adams and sound designer Acme Sound Partners.

The current tour features several members of the original Broadway tribe, including Steel Burkhardt as Berger and Paris Remillard as Claude. Also included are Mike Evariste (Hud), Phyre Hawkins (Dionne), Sara King (Sheila), Katlin Kiyan (Crissy), Ryan Link (Woof) and Aleque Reid (Jeanie).

Hair is presented by The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director), Joey Parnes, Nederlander Productions Inc., Carl Moellenberg/Wenlarbar Productions, Rebecca Gold/Myla Lerner, Rick Costello, Joy Newman & David Schumeister, Paul G. Rice/Paul Bartz, Debbie Bisno, Christopher Hart Productions, John Pinckard, Terry Schnuck, and by special arrangement with Elizabeth Ireland McCann.
