News White Christmas to Make West End Debut; Principal Casting Announced White Christmas, a stage version of the 1954 Irving Berlin film musical of the same name which was previously produced on Broadway across two consecutive Christmas seasons at the Marquis Theatre in 2008 and 2009, is to receive its West End debut. It will play at the newly refurbished Dominion Theater, beginning performances Nov. 8 prior to an official opening Nov. 12, for an eight-week run through Jan. 3, 2015.

It will star Aled Jones, the former boy soprano turned adult actor, singer, radio and TV presenter who has previously appeared in White Christmas in regional U.K. theatre runs of the show in 2007 and 2009, and Tom Chambers, winner of BBC-TV's "Strictly Come Dancing" and star of TV's "Holby City" and "Waterloo Road," who made his West End debut in the 2010 bow of Top Hat, another stage verson of an Irving Berlin-scored film.

They will play two ex-army pals as they team up with a pair of sisters to put on a show to save their former General’s remote Vermont ski lodge that's fallen on hard times.

The 30-strong cast will also include Wendi Peters as Martha, Graham Cole as General Waverley, Rachel Stanley as Betty Haynes and Louise Bowden as Judy Haynes.

In a press statement, Jones commented, "I am absolutely delighted to be making my West End musical theatre debut in such a well-loved musical. It is a huge honour to sing Irving Berlin’s wonderful songs, 'White Christmas,' 'Count Your Blessings,' 'Blue Skies' and 'How Deep is the Ocean,' which are so synonymous with the great Bing Crosby."

Chambers added, "I am thrilled to be joining the cast of White Christmas this November in the fantastic venue that is the Dominion Theatre. It'll be great to be back in the West End again, and at such a special time of year, performing in such an incredibly magical and iconic show. I'm a huge fan of Irving Berlin's music and it'll be a great pleasure to be back in my tap shoes again." A 17-piece orchestra will be conducted by Andrew Corcoran. The stage musical is based on the Paramount Pictures timeless movie classic, written for the screen by Norman Krasna, Norman Panama & Melvin Frank, which starred Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. The stage musical has music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake, and was originally directed on Broadway by Walter Bobbie. It wil be directed here by Morgan Young. Choreography is by Randy Skinner, with Helen Rymer as U.K. associate choreographer.

Set design is by Anna Louizos with costumes by Carrie Robbins, lighting by Ken Billington and sound by Clem Rawling. Orchestrations are by Larry Blank and dance and vocal arrangements by Bruce Pomahac.

The musical was originally produced in the United States by The Producing Office, Inc. and BFI Productions, Inc. It will be presented at the Dominion Theatre by Michael Rose and U-Live for White Christmas Onstage (UK) Limited, in association with Paramount Pictures.
