News White Noise Musical Features Teen Sister Act With a Pop Taste — for Hate The new musical, White Noise, will receive its first public viewing in an Equity-approved reading, produced by Nasser Productions, May 25 at the Kirk Theater on West 42nd Street.

The Manhattan reading will feature Kacie Sheik (Las Vegas' We Will Rock You), Whitney Bashor, Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Ragtime, Seussical), Dave Hull and Kevin Pariseau (Slut, I Love You, You're Perfect…).

White Noise is billed as "A Cautionary Musical," and is described by the authors this way: "Confirming the old adage that it's better to be a star than wear one, an adorable pair of sisters, Blanche and Eva, lead the teen band White Noise, mixing irresistible harmonies with white power rhetoric and taking the nation by storm. Their message of racial purity resonates with young people across America and the rise of White Noise coincides with a rise in the white supremacist movement which threatens to engulf the country, as Blanche and Eva prove themselves to be masters of the most terrifying and unstoppable form of Fascism in today's culture: Top Forty pop."

Presentations will be at 5 and 8 PM May 25. Nina Shreiber will co-produce the evening, which will feature a four-piece band helmed by musical director Sonny Paladino, as well as choreographic consulting by Todd L. Underwood and musical and vocal arrangements by Ben Cohen. Ryan J. Davis directs.

White Noise was conceived by Davis and features book, music and lyrics by Joe Drymala, with additional songs by Rick Crom (Newsical), Glen Kelly (dance arranger, The Producers, Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone), Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy, Sarah, Plain and Tall, Legally Blonde) Stephen Sislen (Slut) and Eric Svejcar (Caligula).

Several songs from White Noise recently debuted at the sold-out benefit concert, Stuck in the Zipper: The Songs of Joe Drymala & Eric Svejcar. They were performed by Kacie Sheik, Whitney Bashor and Andrew Keenan-Bolger. Reservations for the reading can be made by emailing [email protected].

Specify the number of tickets and the preferred performance. As tickets are extremely limited, reservations for more than two people will not be accepted.
