Bill Fennelly will stage Fly By Night, which will officially open May 3. It runs through May 26 in the Kalita Humphreys Theater. The musical debuted at TheatreWorks (Palo Alto) in summer 2011 and will make its New York debut in spring 2014 at Playwrights Horizons.

Fennelly also staged the TheatreWorks premiere, which was embraced by critics.

The rock musical is penned by Kim Rosenstock (Tigers Be Still), Once cast member Will Connolly and Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents).

According to DTC, "Harold is a hapless sandwich maker who stumbles onto the path of music and romance. Enter sisters Daphne and Miriam and the sweetness of new love becomes more complicated than expected. As the Narrator explains, theirs is a story of destiny, free will and hope that moves beyond darkness and into the light."

Bashor (The Fantasticks, Whistle Down the Wind) portrays Daphne, with Duanno (Brief Encounter, The Last Goodbye) as Harold, Michael McCormick (Chaplin, Elf) as Crabble, Kristin Stokes (Doubt) as Miriam, Asa Somers (Next to Normal) as the Narrator, David Coffee (Cabaret) as Mr. McClaim and Alex Organ (A Christmas Carol) as Joey. McCormick and Stokes were also part of the TheatreWorks premiere. "Fly By Night is an entertaining - sometimes edgy and sometimes heartfelt – new musical by a team of talented young writers that will grab audiences from the first note and won’t let them go," said DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty in a statement. "Will, Michael and Kim have written a smart and funny story that is as unique as each of their own voices. It is a thrill to have the three of them at Dallas Theater Center and for the organization to be a part of their wonderfully collaborative process."

Fly By Night will have choreography by Joel Ferrell, scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Tony Award winner Paloma H. Young, lighting design by Paul Toben and sound design by Zachary Williamson.
