According to a report on Contactmusic.com, Smith hopes to open a "Clerks"-themed play at the end of 2014, which will mark the 20th anniversary of his directorial debut with "Clerks," about two convenience store workers.
"If ['Clerks' star Jeff Anderson] says yeah, then that's what we'll do—we'll do it as a Broadway play, which I think will be so fun for all of us," said Smith at a book signing March 27 in L.A.
The "Clerks" films star Brian O'Halloran as Dante Hicks and Anderson as Randal Graves. Smith, who was also seen in "Clerks" as Silent Bob, has also appeared in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and "Dogma," among others.
