Film star Frances McDormand is expected to star in To You, The Birdie at the Riverside Studios in London in May 2002.
The play is a version of Phaedra, the classic Greek work about immoral and illegal lust within a family. To You, The Birdie will be the second version of the play (Sheila Gish stars in an earlier one at the same venue, in March) that will appear at the Riverside Studios in spring.
The details of the arrival and performance schedule of To You, The Birdie will be announced nearer the time; they are currently unconfirmed. The production, which is a joint one between the experimental American theatre company The Wooster Group and Old Vic Productions (Chairman Richard Attenborough), is expected to take place in May.
