The New York Post reports that several producers are hoping to bring the new work to NYC this year starring Marlo Thomas.
Playwright DiPietro told Playbill.com, "After terrific runs at George Street Playhouse and Guild Hall, Clever Little Lies hopes to have a terrific run in New York City. We're currently talking to this person and that person, and hopefully we'll have definite news soon. Marlo is a theatrical treasure, and her work in the play is extraordinary."
Directed by David Saint, the Guild Hall cast featured Thomas as well as Greg Mullavey, Jim Stanek and Kate Wetherhead.
"A mother always knows when something’s up. Bill Jr. is distracted, under pressure and off his game," according to press notes. "Will a surprising evening with his parents send him further off-kilter? Secrets are exposed and clever little lies are crafted when a confidence shared between father and son escalates into an unexpected revelation that could change everything…"
Thomas was most recently seen on Broadway in Relatively Speaking. Tony winner DiPietro is a co-creator of the Tony-winning musical Memphis.
